About Us

Xavier Unique Place Founder/Co Founder

I believe I'm helping those in need first and foremost because I've gone through the struggles with my son Xavier as a working parent and I know that there is a need. I believe that I also wanting to provide a safe environment for young adult with Autism to come and hang out and be around other that share the same disability. Because the range of symptoms with someone that has Autism is so large, Xavier's Place will allow for individuals with those range of symptoms to come and feel comfortable. I also believe that there is a lot of pressure for young adults to go to specific program to have to learn a skill or work on something but at Xavier's Place this is a place for individuals to come and relax, hang out, talk with and socialize with peers. I really think there is a lot of pressure put on individuals with Autism to have to do things that they don't want to, and they don't have the verbal communication, like Xavier, to tell us that he's burnt out from skill building or doesn't feel up to volunteering that day. Xavier's Place will allow Parents to continue to work or go and run errands and not have to worry about their young adult child being home by themselves. The free transportation is HUGE. This allows people that are not independent enough to ride the Smart Bus or people of low income the opportunity to still feel a part of their community as well to allow them to not feel isolated in their homes. ~Laverne Hill & Eddie Evans
